To reserve the DAW, visit the UW libraries website (http://lib.washington.edu), click on "Reserve a Study Room" and follow the links.  After completing the reservation, you can pick up the DAW suitcase and key from the front desk of OUGL.  The suitcase contains two microphones (one Shure SM57 and one Shure SM58), two XLR cables for microphones, one guitar cable, headphones and an 1/8th to 1/4th adapter.

The SM58 is used more for vocals whereas the SM57 is a directional mike typically used for mixing analog instruments, such as acoustic guitars.
