Welcome to Computer Management! The goal of this workshop is to give you the information not included in your computer's manual - how to establish and maintain a good security routine and keep your computer in tip-top shape.

Computing and Communications maintains a set of guidelines on how to keep your computer healthy. Lets start by reviewing the guidelines outlined by Computing and Communications, and then we'll go over how to implement them and establish a good security routine.

This curriculum is designed to aid you in the upkeep of a healthy internet capable computer. Specifically this advice is designed for keeping a computer up to the standards required of computers on the UW network. The advice given here, however; should be useful whether or not you are part of the UW network or not. The standards outlined here are a good basis for all computers that make frequent use of the internet.
