Transferring Files To and From a Server With Fugu
This document explains how to get files from and save files to a remote server at your local computer using the Fugu program for Macintosh OS X.
Before you start
You will need:- a file or files saved on a Web server, and
- an open connection to the server with Fugu.
Locate the file you wish to retrieve.
When you open your server connection, you will see a list of files and folders in the right pane of the Fugu window. This is the top level of your account on the remote server. You might need to open a folder (by double-clicking) to locate the file you want to save to you local computer.
Decide where you want to save the file.
In the left pane of the Fugu window, find the location you want to save the file. To save the file, click and drag the file from the right pane into the appropriate location in left pane.
Open the file.
You can now open the file using whatever software is appropriate. If it is a Web (HTML) document, for example, you might choose to open it with one of several HTML editors. Many email attachments can be opened using Microsoft Word.
Conversely, saving a file back to the server.
If you want to save a file back to the server (e.g., upload a file to your dante account), then simply drag the file from the left to the right.
