Placing Graphics

Help Center > Adobe InDesign > Placing Graphics

Although InDesign can be used to create simple graphics, its intended use is to meld together premade graphics and text. You can import both text blocks and graphics by using the Place command: D (Windows) or D (Mac OS) (the command can also be found by going to File > Place). Once the image has been selected, a box pointer appears; you can either click and drag to set the image's dimensions or just click once to have the image appear in its original dimensions.
