Macros
Macros are advanced features that can speed up editing or formatting you may perform often in a Word document. They record sequences of menu selections so that a series of actions can be completed in one step.
Recording a Macro
To record a Macro:
- Go to the Ribbon, to the View tab in the Macros group, click the Macros button that has a down arrow on it.
- View Macros lets you see what macros you already have. Click Record Macro to make a new macro.
- Name your macro with a name that you will remember or that describes the actions being taken.
- Now you can assign whether the macro will be activated with a button you create, or with a keyboard command you make.
- Choose where to store the macro and describe it if you like. Then click OK.
- Now what ever actions, button presses, and editing that you do will be recorded until you tell the macros to stop recording. You can stop the recording in the same menu where you created the macro.
Running a Macro
To run a Macro:
- Go to the Ribbon, to the View tab in the Macros group, click the Macros button that has a down arrow on it.
- Select View Macros.
- Choose the macro that you want to run and click Run.
