Reply to a Post
You can reply to a post in two different ways: by adding to the conversation, or by quoting another participant's post.
To add to a conversation, follow these steps:
- Click the subject of a conversation to open and view it.
- Click Reply to jump to the bottom of the conversation, or just scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Enter your post in the space provided. You can use the toolbar to format
the text, insert images, create links, insert smileys, and more.
The rich text editor is set on by default. If it is slowing your page load time, you can switch to a plain text editor by clicking Use the plain text editor below the editor. Read more about the rich text editor here.
- To attach a file, click Attach file under the text area, and then click Browse... to locate the file on your desktop computer.
- You can also select another file to attach by clicking Attach another file. Click Remove to remove attachments.
- You can click Preview to see how your post will appear.
- Click Post.
To quote a post when replying, follow these steps:
- Click the subject of a conversation to open and view it.
- Locate the post you want to quote in your reply, and click Quote in the upper right. You will jump to the bottom of the conversation, and the quoted post will appear in the "Add to this conversation" text area.
- Enter your post in the space provided underneath the quoted post. You can use the toolbar to format the text, insert images, create links, insert smileys, and more.
- To attach a file, click Attach file under the text area, and then click Browse... to locate the file on your desktop computer.
- You can also select another file to attach by clicking Attach another file. Click Remove to remove attachments.
- You can click Preview to see how your post will appear.
- Click Post.
It is a good idea to delete parts of the quoted
post that are not relevant to your response. This will make your response
easier to follow and keep your post at a manageable length.
