Enable Web Site Statistics
SimpleSite allows you to enable and view statistics about visits to your Web site. Analyzing Web site statistics can help you understand how people use your Web site.
Enable site statistics.
Before you can view Web site statistics, you must first enable them. Statistics are generated and updated nightly, so you may have to wait up to 24 hours to view your Web statistics.
- On the SimpleSite Home page, select your project from the "Available Web sites" drop-down menu.
- Select Manage this Web site's usage statistics and then click Next. You will move to the "Manage Web site statistics" page.
- To enable Web statistics, select the checkbox next to "Enable Web site statistics".
- Choose if you want to save or delete the nightly log file. Each connection to your Web site is recorded in the access log file, which will grow large quickly if you have a popular Web site. To conserve disk space, you can have SimpleSite delete the original log file each night after it creates the statistical summary. If you intend to do your own site usage analysis of this log file, then you will want to save the log files. However, in most cases you will want to check the box next to "Reset the log file nightly" to save space.
- Since images on your site are separate files, the log records each time an image displays on a page. To exclude images in your statistics report, check the box next to "Ignore images...".
- When you're done, click Save. Statistics are automatically generated and updated nightly, so you will have to wait until the next morning (up to 24 hours) before viewing your statistics.
After 24 hours have passed, you will be able to view your project site's usage
statistics.
