User Testing (Pre-Testing)
By now, you either have a wireframe of the site that lacks only the content, or a fully functional site. At this point, it is important to get some user feedback. The best way to go about this is to conduct some usability testing. Sit down some users and have them navigate your site. Ask them questions like if the feel of the design and navigation fits the content. If your site is fully functional, you can test your navigation scheme by having the user(s) try to locate certain pieces of information. Take note of how difficult it is for them to locate the information. This information could help you decide if you need to reformat your navigation scheme, or if the content needs to be re-worded, etc.
