The Catalyst Web Tools are a set of Web- based communication and collaboration applications designed for use in teaching, learning, research, and everyday work. Anyone with a UW NetID may attend a tools workshop and use the Catalyst Tools for free. Learn how to put up a basic Web site, use an online survey for your research, create a discussion board, share files online, set up an assignment turn-in area, and manage an online survey or quiz.

Learn the basics of building an online questionnaire using WebQ, the Catalyst online survey and quiz tool. In this workshop, you will learn how to create a survey with several types of questions and be introduced to WebQ's features.

The UW Human Subjects Division has determined that WebQ, the Catalyst online survey tool, provides acceptable procedures to protect the privacy and confidentiality of human subjects. In this workshop, we provide information to help UW faculty, staff, and researchers create and manage a WebQ survey in a research context.

Put Your Course Online (SimpleSite) Registration required Designed for UW instructors and employees

Put materials and resources for your project or course online by creating a course Web site. In this workshop, you will learn how to create a Web site using the Catalyst SimpleSite tool. With only a Web browser, SimpleSite helps you create template-based Web pages. In this class, we will explain how to create links, add global navigation, and include images in your pages.

Tools for Online Discussions, File Sharing and Turn-in Registration required Designed for UW instructors and employees

Formerly known as "Not in My Inbox (GoPost, Collect It, & ShareSpaces)", this workshop will cover three of our new tools: GoPost, Collect It, and ShareSpaces. Learn about the features of GoPost, participate in a GoPost discussion, and then create your own board. Also create a Collect It drop box and a shared space where you may upload and share files.
